St. Mary's Road
Brief
Our client required a larger kitchen, a new utility room and larger bedrooms.
Response
We were asked to help after two previous planning applications for a two storey rear extension had been refused. Instead we proposed a two storey side extension containing an entrance porch at ground floor level and a new bathroom at first floor. This relocation of the bathroom meant that the required additional bedroom accommodation could be provided without the need for rearwards extension at first floor level. In turn this meant that the new kitchen could now be provided in a single storey rear extension acceptable to the planners. The change in ground levels at the rear of the house required careful design to ensure good connection between the existing house and the new kitchen located at garden level.
Testimonial
“We are really happy with the design. It has really made the house work as we now use all the space. Our old dining room was dead space that we rarely used. Now we eat in that room every day. I especially love the views of Reigate Hill from the new upstairs bedroom”.
